Artist's reflection: There are three parts to this landscape painting: a stark blue sky, gray sharp rock formations, and brownish and reddish vegetation. The clear differences of the objects, the colors and brush strokes all combine to make this piece one scene.
 
Hong Yu, who is originally from a rural setting, has a deep connection with the four seasons and a special affection for their characteristics including the rain, snow, wind and frost. During his 1,000+ kilometer journey from Anhui Province, China to Beijing, China he captured these characteristics and the atmosphere that enveloped him. Through his artwork, Hong likes to convey to others what he sees and how his heart interprets it.
