Artist's reflection: I took out the Chinese lettering on the trees and rearranged them on the left side of the painting. These characters are the names of some people. They were carved into the trees many years ago, becoming marks that represent wounds. The broken trees on the right side of the artwork have more obvious wounds, which symbolize the use of people in the process of growing, so-called "success". The trees and people form a metaphor for each other.
