Artist's reflection: The dark floor of this forest with interspersed trees seems lonely upon first glance. Yet, the feathery spots of white spread throughout give a touch of needed warmth. And the light color also highlights the green of some trees, which might simply appear dark, without life, without it. 
 
The works in Li's "Wasteland" series are representations of his interpretations of what is beyond city life and therefore what represents the meaning of life.
