Artist: Hong Yu
 
Artist's reflection: Leafless and lifeless trees with a gray background is what we see on the surface. But the artist sees value and beauty in what he has painted and the lack of detail means a viewer can add them in her / his own mind. 
 
Hong Yu, who is originally from a rural setting, has a deep connection with the four seasons and a special affection for their characteristics including the rain, snow, wind and frost. During his 1,000+ kilometer journey from Anhui Province, China to Beijing, China he captured these characteristics and the atmosphere that enveloped him. Through his artwork, Hong likes to convey to others what he sees and how his heart interprets it.
