Artist: Hong Yu

Artist's reflection: In this landscape contemporary art by Hong, he has a lot of open space. Color is used to make certain parts stand out. However, the colors are only contrasting just enough to create separation, but do not jump out at a viewer.

Hometown grain station warehouses. A huge house. They carry the memories of several generations of people who come to buy public food. Every year cars and food come from all directions to this place bringing with them the laughter and tears from the sweat of other's labor.

Hong Yu, who is originally from a rural setting, has a deep connection with the four seasons and a special affection for their characteristics including the rain, snow, wind and frost. During his 1,000+ kilometer journey from Anhui Province, China to Beijing, China he captured these characteristics and the atmosphere that enveloped him. Through his artwork, Hong likes to convey to others what he sees and how his heart interprets it.
