Artist's reflection: The title is perfect for this landscape artwork. Through long, wavy and textured brush strokes, Hong masterfully makes the snow of the foreground look like it's moving. The pine forest of trees is obvious, but doesn't dominate the scene. The blue sky of wispy brush strokes, white and brownish, make the sky look a bit lively.
 
Hong Yu, who is originally from a rural setting, has a deep connection with the four seasons and a special affection for their characteristics including the rain, snow, wind and frost. During his 1,000+ kilometer journey from Anhui Province, China to Beijing, China he captured these characteristics and the atmosphere that enveloped him. Through his artwork, Hong likes to convey to others what he sees and how his heart interprets it.
