Artist's reflection: There is just enough detail to provide viewers with the needed base for creating their own unique viewing experience. In addition, while the purple sky dominates, Dong applies just enough white color to focus a person's attention on what he feels is important. 
 
Dong's contemporary watercolor paintings are mainly based on the natural scenery of the four seasons. Many of his works are created from his travels or daily life. His paintings are simple and generous, but pass on to the viewer unique feelings about the four seasons. It is as if through the paintings the viewer can feel the the comfort and calmness of close contact with nature.
