Artist's reflection: The sky and the land each stands on its own in this artwork. The sky is filled mostly with a purple-like color that is ever so slightly washed out in parts. And the land has multiple colors and the figures are detailed just enough to see who they are.  
 
Dong's contemporary watercolor paintings are mainly based on the natural scenery of the four seasons. Many of his works are created from his travels or daily life. His paintings are simple and generous, but pass on to the viewer unique feelings about the four seasons. It is as if through the paintings the viewer can feel the the comfort and calmness of close contact with nature.
